Join us in building homes for families
We are excited to partner with Shelter and members from other EMCC churches to form a team to help build prefabricated homes to provide safe homes for families in El Salvador.

Shelter will handle all the trip details – from preparation, flight tickets, fundraising, and in-country plans and expenses. All funds will be received by shelterhelps.org.
Team Leaders: John Cressman & Deve Persad (Pastor of Sarnia Evangelical Missionary Church).
Project: We will assist the El Salvador Shelter Team in assembling simple yet valuable homes for those in need. No construction experience is necessary. As a team, we will prayerfully seek to raise approximately $ 4000 for the materials needed for each home. Further, we will have the opportunity to learn more about the country of El Salvador and meet followers of Jesus there.
Details:
- Saturday to Saturday – 5-hour direct flight from Toronto Pearson to San Salvador.
- Cost per person to cover all expenses – $2200.00 CAD (includes flight, accommodations, meals). These funds can be raised through charitable donations from family and friends.
- A $500 deposit is required as soon as possible.
- Team meetings via Zoom to prepare for the trip will generally occur on the fourth Sunday of each month leading up to the trip (except June and July).
- Participants must be 16 to work on the job site. Those under 16 will facilitate activities for the children in the area and perform other support roles for the team. A parent must accompany all participants under 18.
- Your passport’s expiry date should be later than May 30, 2026. If not, you will need to get a new passport proactively.
- Consult your doctor if you have medical concerns related to travel or participation. Some vaccinations may be recommended for the trip.
