All relationships are based on communication. And a lack of communication is the root of many conflicts in relationships. Your relationship with God is no different. God invites us into an experiential relationship of communication.
In all three synoptic gospels, Jesus says, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves!” What is it about the actions of the money changers in the temple that caused Jesus to react with such anger? Why was the temple so important to Jesus? After all, his death would put an end to the entire sacrificial system and any need for Christ followers to be involved with the temple? Could it be that Jesus had such a high regard for prayer and our ability to connect with God that he was willing to react so harshly?
