Family of God: The Father

If we are to understand our role as part of God’s family than we need to understand God’s role as our father. How can we claim that the creator of the universe is my dad? According to a 2014 USA Today poll, 75% of people have an anxiety causing view of God. If that is our view of our father, is the family of God really where we want to be?
